From amenities to entertainment, and how much I paid, here’s the only Delta Premium Select review you need to decide if you should book Delta Premium Economy.

Is Delta Premium Select Business Class?
Delta’s Premium Select class is Delta’s newest attempt to bridge the gap between Business and Economy with affordable prices. It’s meant for people who want to be a little more comfortable but do not want to pay Delta One price - which let’s be honest is EXPENSIVE.
Delta Premium Select is suppose to have extra space, comfort, priority services, inflight entertainment, an enhanced dining experience, and additional amenities, so let’s break down each one:
What Do You Get That’s Different Than Regular Economy or Comfort +?
Delta Premium Select Review: Amenities:
It wouldn’t be a Delta Premium Select review without talking about the handful of great amenities like noise-canceling headphones (they take these back but if you just happen to be at the restroom….) an amenity kit, with a toothbrush, pen, sleep mask, earplugs, and a lip balm from grown alchemist.
With Delta Premium Select you also get a memory foam pillow which was surprisingly comfortable and a game changer combined with a window seat. You also get a plush blanket which was nice to have during the long flight but nothing life-changing.
Delta Premium Select Review: Priority Boarding & Sky Priority:
As someone who has only flown economy, having sky priority was actually something I didn’t think was a big deal until now… With Delta Premium Select, you can access to Sky Priority perks in both the US and abroad which helps you get through immigration and security faster.
When flying to Australia, I was able to go to the priority check-in and security in the States and got to board the plane as one of the first members after Delta One.
But best of all, with Delta Premium Select you’re one of the first ones to leave the plane which was AWESOME after the 15 hour flight and your bags are also tagged with neon yellow Sky Priority which means they are one of the first ones out.
To maximize comfort, grab the BEST noise-cancelling headphones for your trip, they are an absolute game changer and as someone who’s taken over 200 flights, an absolute travel essential.
Delta Premium Select Review: Food & Service
To my surprise, with Delta Premium Select you get premium service which means a glass of champagne once everyone is seated as well as different food options from the economy.
For my leg to Australia, we had two options of a Delta Chicken Parmesan with pomodoro sauce and broccolini or Delta Cacio e Pepe Lasagna with béchamel sauce.
I ordered the Delta chicken parmesan and it was crispy, and juicy, and left me wanting more (10/10)
Tip: Make sure you sit in one of the first seats because they ran out of the Chicken Parmesan and the people behind me had to get the Lasagna.
If you’re a vegan, you can also let Delta know 24 hours prior to boarding and they'll be sure to accommodate you.
The meal also came with lemon blondie and cheese biscuits, all of which were delicious and left me wanting seconds.
On the way back I had the options of a roasted chicken breast with cacciatore sauce, polenta, broccoli or a grilled mushroom risotto with cherry tomato rags, and asparagus.
With Delta’s premium select you get a choice of a complimentary beverage including beer, premium wine, delicious cocktails and more - AND these come in a real glass! No more paper cups that don’t make you feel like an adult.
But something that shocked me, is that with Delta Premium Select they actually make your dining table for you! Equipped with a tablecloth, salt and pepper, cheese biscuits, salt and pepper, and EVEN a REAL PLATE - it definitely feels classier than your average economy meal.
Delta Premium Select Review: Entertainment:
It wouldn’t be a Delta Premium Select review without talking about the entertainment on board and the bigger screen really makes all the difference combined with the BEST noise-cancelling headphones.
You’re able to concentrate on the movie in front of you and time passes much quicker. There are almost 600 different movies, 62 TV shows, and 123 different audio offerings.
I watched more Disney movies than I would like to admit as well as the Barbie movie and Home Alone 1, 2, and Taken.
If you want to look at your phone, or watch Netflix, grab this super handy universal phone mount from Amazon
Delta Premium Select Review: Deltas Premium Select Seats
Let’s talk Delta Premium Select seats. This is what you’re actually paying for if you decide to upgrade to Delta’s premium select seats and it was actually quite comfortable. You get a fold-out foot and leg rest, wider seats, a deeper recline, and bigger TV screens.
With Delta Premium Select there are two seats on each side of the plane and four seats in the middle of the plane. The 2 seats on each side are perfect for couples traveling together as you can get a little piece of the plane all to yourselves.
Delta Premium Select Review: Legroom:
With Delta Premium Select, there was significantly more legroom than in economy. As someone who is 5’,8 I was able to put a bag under my seat and still comfortably stretch my legs.
I would recommend getting bulkhead seats at the front of the cabin to get even more legroom and space.
They give you a piece of paper with menu options as well as instructions so it’s easy to recline your seat or fold out your leg rest. The flight attendant also walked around to explain all the Delta Premium Select functions once we sat down.
I always prioritize comfort on a plane, bring this inflatable pillow with me on any flight I go. It will help you sleep like a BABY, especially with a window seat, it’s truly a game changer.
Delta Premium Select Review: Cost For My 15 Hour Flight:
For my Delta Premium Select flight, I took two different flights from NYC to Sydney, Australia.
NYC -> LAX and then LAX -> Sydney
Unfortunately, there was no premium select from NYC -> LAX so I only had it for one leg of the trip. Flying in Main Economy would’ve cost me $1,500 USD for this leg of the trip but the total amount I spent on this trip just for flights in Delta Premium Select was $3,500.
Delta Premium Select Review: Final Answer:
Is Delta’s Premium economy honestly worth it? If you have limited days on your trip and need to land feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day, it is worth it to upgrade to Delta Premium Select. Or even if you’re flying for business or have the extra points/miles, definitely invest for a long flight.
But if you’re a budget traveler and you value money, I wouldn’t upgrade because you’d have to pay double just for those several hours.
And there you have it! The only Delta Premium Select review you need on whether or not Delta Premium Economy is worth the money to book. Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope you have the most amazing trip, whether you choose to spend it in Delta Premium Economy or regular economy.
