10 Fun Things To Do in Sydney
10. Breakfast with Koalas
This is probably one of the cutest experiences you’ll ever have and one of the best places to visit in NSW, you can have breakfast with Koalas at the Wild Life Sydney Zoo. During breakfast you’re able to get up close with their cute appearances, watch them eat their eucalyptus, and even smell them! (warning though: they are quite uniquely smelly)
This tour also included a guided tour with a keeper of the zoo to see other animals such as kangaroos, Tasmanian devils (which sound scarier than they look), snakes, and lots of other wild animals. Then you get a photo to take home to remember the incredible start to your day. You’ll remember this one forever, definitely one of the most fun things to do in Sydney to add to your itinerary.
9. Catch a Show at the Sydney Opera House
One of the MUST places to visit in NSW is the Sydney Opera House so be sure to add this to your travel itinerary! Even if you’re not seeing a show, visiting the outside and surrounding environment is such a great free things to do in Sydney.
As a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is only 50 years old, the Opera House hosts a diverse range of performances from live music, to opera, theater, and ballet. Spend some time walking around to see stunning views of the Sydney skyline and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can catch a ferry there to or from Circular Quay or even Luna Park (definitely recommend this as the ferry is easy to take and has some of the best views, sit in the back or the top!)

8. Visit The Iconic Bondi Beach
This is one of the best free things to do in Sydney, and definitely one of the most fun things to do in Sydney too! Perhaps one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, this famous pool and beach attracts people from all parts of the world.
The pool itself is called Bondi Iceberg pools and just like its name, the water is FREEZING. Come on a beautiful hot sunny day and in the mornings to have the entire place to yourself. Admission to the pools is about $10 AUD or $7 USD and don’t forget to bring your own towel or you’ll be paying $5 AUD just like me!
Schedule some time to walk around the beautiful trendy town. You can find the cutest jewelry stores, clothing stores, and crystal shops, or grab some açaí bowls and head down to the beach!

7. Visit the Spa at the Crown
Getting a massage might not sound like a fun things to do in Sydney, but what if I told you this will be one of the best massages of your life?
Even if you’re not getting a massage, add the Crown to your list of places to visit in the NSW because there are over 9 different restaurants there and it’s located on Barangaroo Ave, a fun place to walk on the harbor with tons of trendy restaurants and bars.
When booking a massage, you can get access to their spa as well giving you amenities like a sauna, steam room, hot tub, and showers (AND a Dyson Airwrap) Plan accordingly so you can enjoy them before and after your massage!
(I got the 1 hour relaxation massage and it was life-changing)
Also add be sure to bring the right power adaptor in advance as it is really inconvenient to buy once you’re in SYdney.
6. Take a Ride on the Ferry
Taking the ferry was one of the best things to do in Sydney because it’s super easy to take, convenient, and has gorgeous views.
Whether you want to visit Manly Beach, Luna Park, or the famous Taronga Zoo, the ferry comes frequently and goes to the most desirable destinations. I recommend taking the ferry from Circular Quay to Luna Park and down to the Sydney Opera House to get some amazing views and see most of Sydney.
As a city known for it’s stunning harbor and picturesque waterfront, this is the nicest place to get around, definitely add taking the ferry to your list of fun things to do in Sydney!
5. Visit Luna Park
If you love carnivals and amusement parks, add Luna Park to your list of fun things to do in Sydney Australia. This place to visit in NSW is kinda wonky, creepy, but mostly unique and pretty cool!
Luna Park has been a local favorite since 1935, with an iconic giant smiling entrance. They have unique rides - all clown-themed (like I said, kinda creepy but kinda fun)
And it’s actually a free things to do in Sydney, you only have to pay if you decide to ride a ride. It’s super easy to visit and I recommend taking the ferry here from the Sydney Opera House or Circular Quay

4. Pick up Souvenirs at Queen Victoria Mall
You can’t go to Australia without picking up some souvenirs so here are some of my favorites places to shop!
I recommend getting Uggs (they’re from Australia after all), grabbing a coffee here, and going to T2 a tea shop that has over 200 different loose-leaf tea and tea bags. They have some delicious and unique flavors like Creme Brûlée or Melbourne Breakfast tea.
If you have a couple of hours to spare, exploring the mall and this area needs to be on your list of fun things to do in Sydney Australia.
3. Climbing the Sydney Bridge
This is probably one of the most fun things to do in Sydney Australia - climbing the famous Sydney Bridge. The bridge definitely needs to be on your list of places to visit in NSW.
With unparalleled views of the picturesque Sydney Harbor, stunning city skyline, and Sydney Opera House, the views themselves warrant the climb!
This is one of the best things to do in Sydney, and one of the most memorable. Don’t miss this!
The climb is quite easy but some parts will feel a little scarier for those who are afraid of heights. But fear not, you are totally strapped in and holding the railings the entire time.
Afterward, you’ll feel a huge sense of accomplishment and get pictures that will last a lifetime!

2. Visit the Manly Wormhole
This is an amazing place to visit if you’re looking for free things to do in Sydney.
Known as the local’s favorite beach, the Manly Beach is a must visit for a relaxing atmosphere and some cool hidden gems like the Manly Wormhole.
For the place all to yourself, I recommend coming on a weekday and as early as you can otherwise you may have to queue for the photo or take it with others in it.
Type in 📍Manly Wormhole on Google Maps and it should pop right up!
1. Visit the local’s favorite - Manly Beach
A local favorite, Manly Beach is a gorgeous place that has it all. Beautiful beach, a lively coastal town, fun shopping, and a thriving social scene. Located only a 30 minute ferry ride from Sydney’s Circular Quay it is so easy to access and you can stay here for a day trip or even stay overnight. It’s a surfers paradise and has constantly been recognized as one of Australia's premier surfing destinations.
And there you have it! The 10 fun things to do in Sydney that will make you fall in LOVE. Sydney Australia is one of my favorite places to visit in the world and I’m sure after your visit there, you’ll feel the same way. Have the best trip!
