The Only 3 Waterfalls You Need To See In Bali

Welcome to beautiful Bali, where lush greenery meets cascading waters in a way that will leave you absolutely speechless. Today we’re diving into the heart of the island and showing you the top three waterfalls here that will blow your mind. From hidden gems, to instagram sensations, from an island of over 20 different waterfalls, here are the top three best waterfalls worth visiting on your next trip to Bali!

3. Most Instagram Worthy Waterfall in Bali: Tengenungan Waterfall

Tengenungan is in the heart of Ubud and can easily be found. I ranked this the most instagram worthy waterfall in Bali because of all the cute photo opportunities! Come early because its a popular waterfall and gets crowded. We came around 7am and had the place to myself. Getting a cab driver for the entire day and then coming here on your first stop would be the easiest way to get here!
15-30 minute trip from Ubud

#2. Most Epic Waterfall in Bali: Kanto Lampo

My favorite thing about waterfalls is hearing them roar before I see them. Coming in number #2 of the best waterfalls in Bali is definitely Kanto Lampo. It is absolutely breathtaking, but can be a popular and crowded spot. I went around 4pm and it was super crowded. However, with a bit of patience and kindness, you can easily get a perfect instagram shot. I asked a nice local to take some pictures for me, and then tipped him 15,000 IDR ($1.04USD)! I definitely recommend having water shoes for this waterfall because all the rocks are very slippery and I fell.

I recommend doing Kanto Lampo and Tengenungan waterfall on the same day so you only need to rent a driver once.

1. Most Beautiful Waterfall in Bali: Sekumpul Waterfall

Sekumpul falls is not only the most epic waterfall, but is also the biggest waterfall in Bali. Due to its remote location, it’s still a bit of a hidden gem, but like all beautiful things, it requires some effort to get to. Sekumpul Waterfall is located in the North and is around a 2-3 hour drive from the center of Bali, Ubud. I recommend staying a couple of days in the North so you have plenty of time to do some waterfall chasing and nature calling.

How To Get To Sekumpul Falls

Getting here is a bit of a struggle, and unfortunately, locals have locked the doors to the public and are running a bit of a local scam. They will tell you that you need to get a guide and that admission is 100k-250k. The actual admission however, is only 20k and you don’t need an actual guide to get in. My boyfriend and I tried to find a way around the scam, but couldn’t find a way around the locked doors, so we paid 120k ($8.78) each, still really worth it but if you can find a way yourself, you’ll end up only paying $1.30

The area is lush, breathtaking, and one of a kind. If you only have time to visit one waterfall in Bali, I would recommend picking this one!
